Getting Started

How do I start a project with EdgeVenture?
It is simple. Create a free account, describe your project through the portal, and I will follow up within 24 hours with questions, a detailed scope, and a quote. No commitments until you approve the plan and price.
What information do you need from me to get started?
The more detail the better, but at minimum I need to understand your business, your goals for the project, any design preferences (colors, style, reference sites), and your timeline. I will guide you through the rest during our initial conversation.
How long does a typical project take?
Simple landing pages can be delivered in about a week. Multi-page web applications with databases and user accounts typically take 2 to 3 weeks. Complex enterprise platforms with e-commerce and API integrations can take 4 to 6 weeks. Every project gets a clear timeline before work begins.
Do I need to provide content and images?
Ideally, yes. You know your business best. But if you need help with copywriting or need placeholder content to start, I can assist. For images, I can source high-quality stock photos or work with assets you provide.
Do I need to know anything about technology?
Not at all. Most of our clients are small business owners — hair salon owners, landscapers, boutique shops — not tech people. You tell us what your business needs, and we handle all the technical stuff. We'll explain everything in plain English, and you'll always know what's happening.

Pricing & Payment

How much does a project cost?
Projects start at $500 for simple landing pages, from $2,000 for multi-page web applications, and enterprise platforms are quoted individually. Every project is custom-scoped, so you only pay for what you actually need.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. Most projects follow a 50/50 split: half upfront to begin, half upon completion. For larger projects, I can arrange milestone-based payments so you pay as deliverables are completed.
What payment methods do you accept?
I accept PayPal, Zelle, CashApp, Venmo, bank transfer, Stripe, and more. You choose what works best for you. Payments go through secure external providers. I never store your credit card information on my servers.
Are there ongoing costs after the project is delivered?
The project fee covers design and development. Hosting and maintenance are optional add-ons billed monthly or annually. There are no hidden recurring charges. If you want to self-host, I will hand everything over with full documentation.
What's the difference between the project cost and hosting?
Think of it like building a store. The project cost is what you pay the contractor to build the building — that's a one-time payment. Hosting is like the monthly rent — it keeps your store open and accessible to customers on the internet. Without hosting, your website would have no address for people to visit.
How much does hosting cost?
We offer four optional hosting and support plans: Starter at $29/month (basic hosting, monthly backups, email support — no dev hours), Bronze at $49.99/month (weekly backups, bug fixes included, 24-hour email support), Silver at $149.99/month (2 feature requests/month with 6 hours total, priority Slack support with 8-hour response, bi-weekly backups), and Gold at $249/month (up to 5 feature requests/month with 15 hours total, weekly business & strategy calls, dedicated 4-hour response support, and daily backups). All plans are optional — cancel with 30 days written notice. Pay annually and get 2 months free.

Development Process

How do I see progress during development?
You get access to a client portal where you can track milestones, view updates, and communicate directly with me. I also share staging links so you can see your project come together in real time.
How do I request changes or revisions?
Through your client portal. Submit revision requests with details about what you would like changed. Depending on your plan, you get 1 to unlimited revision rounds included in the project price.
What if I need to change the project scope mid-build?
It happens, and that is fine. We will discuss the changes, I will provide an updated quote for any additional work, and once approved, I will adjust the timeline and continue building.
Do you use templates or page builders?
No. Every project is 100% custom-coded. No WordPress themes, no Squarespace, no drag-and-drop builders. Your application is built from scratch with clean, modern code tailored to your specific needs.
What exactly is a 'revision round'?
After we build a version of your project, we show it to you and ask: 'What would you like changed?' You might say 'make the logo bigger,' 'change the colors,' or 'move this section up.' We make all those changes — that's one revision round. The Starter plan includes 1 round, Professional includes 3, and Enterprise gets unlimited rounds. Each round can include as many small changes as you want.

After Launch

Do you provide hosting?
Yes. I offer managed hosting on secure, reliable infrastructure with SSL, daily backups, and monitoring included. It is optional but recommended since I can resolve issues immediately without waiting on a third-party host.
What kind of support do I get after launch?
I do not disappear after delivery. All clients can reach me directly for questions, bug fixes, and small adjustments. For ongoing feature development or larger changes, we scope and price those separately.
Can I make updates to my site myself?
If your project includes an admin panel or content management system, absolutely. I build intuitive dashboards so you can manage content, products, users, and settings without touching code.
What if I want to move my project to a different host?
Your code is yours. I will provide all source files, database exports, and documentation needed to migrate. There are no lock-in contracts or proprietary systems keeping you tied to my hosting.

Technical

What technologies do you use?
I primarily work with PHP, JavaScript, Tailwind CSS, SQLite and MySQL for databases, and Linux-based hosting. For frontend interactivity I use vanilla JavaScript. Every technology choice is made for reliability, performance, and long-term maintainability.
Can I self-host the application you build?
Yes. Everything I build runs on standard web hosting. You need PHP support and a database (SQLite or MySQL depending on the project). I provide setup instructions and can assist with the initial deployment on your server.
Do I own the code you write for me?
You own all your business data, content, and configurations. The application code and underlying technology remain our property, but you receive a non-exclusive license to use the application for your business. This protects both of us — you always have full access to your data, and we can continue improving the platform.

Hosting & Support

What does hosting actually include?
When you choose one of our hosting plans, we handle everything that keeps your website running: we make sure your site stays online 24/7, we install security updates to protect against hackers, we back up your site regularly (monthly on Starter, weekly on Bronze, bi-weekly on Silver, daily on Gold), and we include SSL/TLS encryption. Bronze covers bug fixes and patches only (no feature requests). Silver gets 2 feature requests/month (up to 6 hours total), and Gold gets up to 5 requests (up to 15 hours total) plus weekly business and strategy calls. Starter is hosting-only with no dev hours. On Silver and Gold plans, we also monitor performance and optimize your app regularly.
What if my website goes down?
If your site ever goes down, we're on it. On our Starter plan, we respond within 48 hours. On Bronze, within 24 hours (business days). On Silver, within 8 hours. On Gold, your issue goes to the front of the line with a 4-hour response time. Bronze has a 99.5% uptime SLA, Silver and Gold have 99.9% — meaning your site is online virtually all the time.
Can I change my hosting plan later?
Absolutely. You can upgrade or downgrade your hosting plan at any time. Cancel with 30 days written notice — no cancellation fees beyond the current month. If your business grows and you need more support, just let us know. You can also save by paying annually (10 months upfront gets you 2 months free).
What happens if I stop paying for hosting?
Your website needs hosting to stay on the internet, just like a store needs a physical location to stay open. If you cancel hosting, your site goes offline. We retain your data for 30 days after cancellation (available for export), then it is permanently deleted. You always own your business data and can export it during that window.
Do you offer support after the project is done?
Yes, always. Bronze covers bug fixes only (no feature requests), Silver gets 2 feature requests/month, and Gold gets up to 5. Small questions are always free. If you need work beyond your plan's monthly allocation, we'll quote it at $75/hour with your approval before we start. Gold also includes weekly business and strategy calls (4 per month, up to 2 hours each). Silver and Gold plans include regular performance optimization.
